The undersigned has seen some paintings in oil, drawn with a palette knife on canvas, treated with oriental architectural motifs and signed Schölander. They seem to me to show an impressionist view with strongly contrasting colors and kept in a violently glowing color. When the artist uses intermediate tones, such as in a motif with a city gate (on the reverse marked with A in pencil), he achieves a color effect that should appeal even to those who do not admire all that strong effects.
